Headline corrections to the Ancestry tree
- William Wylie Coe Sr's first wife was Ida Belle Logsdon (b. 1884, d. 1955 Tucson). They married 1910-10-09 at Adaline, Marshall Co — but Marion Erva was born 1906, four years before that marriage. Marion (1906) and Nellie L. (1911/1912) are Ida's children.
- "Lee Coe 1915" is not William Wylie's son. The only Lee Coe in the records is William Wylie's brother, born 1902-01-24 at Cameron to Francis Marion Coe and Lora Bell Fitzgerald.
- "Isaiah Coe 1818–1893" is Josiah Coe, who died 1893-04-29 at Big Run aged 79y10m (so born c. June 1813). His wife was Sarah A., his parents Isaac and Elizabeth Coe, and the informant was his son Isaac N.
- Holly's father William W. Coe Jr was born 1927-09-03 in Minneapolis, Minnesota (FAG), so there is no WV birth record. Eunice Isbin Drummond was born 1907-07-11 at Indian Head, Saskatchewan (FAG). The Drummond line is Canadian/Minnesotan, and that is why WV has no Drummond records for it.
- Phoebe Timmins's mother: Elizabeth Jones was her maiden name. "Elizabeth Mann" (on Isaiah Jr's 1946 certificate) is the name she took when she remarried in 1889. Her 1926 death certificate gives her parents as Henry Jones and Catherine Cox. Phoebe's father, Isaiah Timmins/Timmons (1839–1886), was killed in the Orrell Coal Mine explosion at Newburg, Preston Co (FAG — not found in VRR).
- Carl/Karl Bom was "Charles Hans Littleton Bom" (b. 1869-01-16, d. 1901, per FAG). He married Amelia Gollner on 1891-10-24 at Benwood. His parents were Peter Bom (1844–1928) and Karen/Carrie Petrine Littlelam (1844–1923). The middle name "Littleton" matches her father's name, Frederick Littlelam.
- Amelia Goellner's father Frank Gollner was killed in an accident at River Hill, Marshall Co, on 1886-10-19, aged 64y11m20d. His wife was Amelia and his father was John Gollner.
- Frank X. Bero (b. 1879-03-10 Wheeling, d. 1964-11-27 Wheeling) was the son of Joseph Bernard Bero (b. 1856 Pa., d. 1926) and Martha Marshall (b. 1858 New York State, d. 1902). Joseph Bernard's parents were Joseph Bero and Emily Trombili (Trombley).

| Marion Erva Coe (half-aunt; m. Lowery) | Delayed certificate (filed 1944): born 1906-03-01, Moundsville; father William Wiley Coe, born Cameron; mother Ida Bell Logsdon, born Glen Easton. | Nellie L. Coe (half-aunt; later Bosworth / Lappert) | Contemporary Marshall birth register: b. Dec 5, 1912, Liberty Dist.; father "Wm Coe", mother "Ida B. Coe"; informant father. A later delayed-registration index gives Nov 5, 1911, Adaline, with father William Wiley Coe and mother Ida Belle Logsdon. The two dates conflict. FAG's 1950 census extract (Nellie L. Lappert, 38) fits 1911/12 | 1181424; 1202413 | holly_wv-vrr_1912_birth-register_Marshall_Nellie-L-Coe_b-1912-12-05_parents-Wm-Coe-Ida-B-Coe.jpg, holly_wv-vrr_1911_delayed-birth-index_Marshall_Nellie-L-Coe_b-1911-11-05_parents-William-Wiley-Coe-Ida-Belle-Logsdon.jpg |
| Ida Belle Logsdon (first wife) | Delayed certificate (1951): born 1884-11-26, Marshall Co; father Levi W. Logsdon, mother Emily A. Richter, both born Marshall Co. Evidence: affidavit of her sister Caroline V. Hunt, and a Marshall marriage record dated 1926-02-10 (book U p. 376) — her remarriage to George E. Logsdon. Signed "Ida Belle Logsdon", McMechen. | Lee Coe (William Wylie's brother) | Delayed certificate (1942): born 1902-01-24, Cameron; father Francis Marion Coe, mother Lora Bell Fitzgerald, both born Cameron. Evidence includes an affidavit (1942-04-08) by his mother, "Lora Bell Coe", so she was living and still a Coe in 1942. Lee married in Marshall in 1929 (Essie May Amos, VRR 10315916, index only). | George Melvin Coe (brother) | Marshall death register: d. 1944-05-14, Moundsville, aged 50y3m18d, acute heart attack; laborer; single; parents Frances M. Dayton OH). Marshall birth-register index hits match: John H 1890, George M 1893, Nettie May 1894, Thomas B 1896 (index only, not opened) | — | — |
| Josiah Coe (Ancestry: "Isaiah", 2nd-great-grandfather) | Marshall death register 1893: d. | Lydia Coe (probably Josiah's sister) | d. 1903-10-18, Grave Creek, aged 84; parents Isaac & Elizabeth (index only) | 4622336 | — |
| Newton Coe (Josiah's son?) | Married Susan Charnock, Marshall, 1884 (index only). The FAG bio for Laura Coe Desmond gives the line as Francis Marion ← Josiah ← Isaac Newton ← Philip; the informant on Josiah's death is "Isaac N., son". Ancestry's "Isaac M. 1857" and "Newton 1857" may be one man, Isaac Newton Coe — unproven | 10303951 | — |
| Frank Coe, d. 1901 — POSSIBLY Francis Marion | Marion Co register: d. June 25, 1901, Fairmont, accidental; age 32; married; born Cameron WV; buried Cameron 1901-06-26. Fits Ancestry's 1901 death year, and Lee's birth 7 months later fits a posthumous child. But Francis M. was 22 in Feb 1887 (b. c.1864/65), so he would have been ~36, not 32 — and FAG lists Glenn as born Aug 1904. Unconfirmed: no parents or spouse are named | 5830510 (dup. 5970580) | holly_wv-vrr_1901_death-register_Marion_Frank-Coe-32_b-Cameron_UNCONFIRMED-Francis-M.jpg |

His parents John & Maria Fitzgerald; hers Jas. M. & Sarah Howard. Both the transcribed licence book and the original register (line 12) agree | 10304485; 10729894 | holly_wv-vrr_1861_marriage_Marshall_John-H-Fitzgerald-26-Margaret-J-Howard-18_parents-named.jpg, holly_wv-vrr_1861_marriage-register_Marshall_John-H-Fitzgerald-Margaret-J-Howard_line12.jpg |
| Margaret (Howard) Fitzgerald ("Maggie Howard") | d. Nov 29, 1889, Cameron, dropsy, aged 47; parents Jas. M. & Sarah E. Howard; plasterer's wife; married; informant Jno. H. Fitzgerald. A second register (VRR 4623579, index only) gives Nov 28 and burial in the "Howard Grave Yd." | 4618928 | holly_wv-vrr_1889_death-register_Marshall_Margaret-Fitzgerald-47_parents-Jas-M-Sarah-E-Howard.jpg |
| John Fitzgerald (probably John H.'s father) | d. Nov 4, 1867, Cameron, heart disease, aged 75; hotel keeper; wife Maria Fitzgerald, who was the informant. This matches "John & Maria" in the 1861 marriage | 4614472 | holly_wv-vrr_1867_death-register_Marshall_John-Fitzgerald-75-hotel-keeper_wife-Maria.jpg |
| Lora/Laura Belle's birth year | The 1861 marriage puts her birth after Dec 1861. "23" in Feb 1887 gives 1863/64. FAG's 31 Aug 1860 does not fit, and neither does Ancestry's 1860. FAG: d. 1945-01-01, Stark Co, Ohio; buried McMechen. She was still "Lora Bell Coe" in 1942 | — | — |

Bom / Goellner
| Person | What the record says | VRR id | Image |
|---|---|---|---|
| Charles Hans Littleton Bom + Amelia Gollner | Marshall licence 1891-10-17: he 23, single, born "Germany" [Denmark on every other record], of Benwood; she 22, single, born Ohio; married 1891-10-24 at Benwood. VRR indexes him as "Born" | 10305419 | holly_wv-vrr_1891_marriage_Marshall_Chas-Hans-Littleton-Bom-23-Amelia-Gollner-22_Benwood.jpg |
| Carl (Charles H. L.) Bom's death | Not found in VRR under Bom, Born, Bomm or Baum (Marshall/Ohio 1899–1903). Dead ends (searched, nothing usable)
- William Wylie Coe + Eunice Drummond marriage: no WV hit under groom Coe/Cole/Wiley/Wylie or bride Drummond, 1920–1930. Laura was born in Piqua, Ohio, in 1924, so the marriage is probably in Ohio, Minnesota or Canada.
- William W. Coe Jr + Mildred Bom marriage; Mildred Bom birth (1930): no WV hit (groom Coe 1944–1960 all counties; bride Bom any year; birth Bom 1928–32). The only "William Coe" in Ohio Co is William Coe + Anna Mae Chapline, 1945 (VRR 12288044, not opened) — Jr would have been 18; worth a look only if an earlier marriage of his turns up. Bonnie Lou Coe (b. 1950) is listed on FAG as his child.
- Martin Felix Drummond (d. 1924) / Elizabeth "McLegheiga": no WV death or marriage. Eunice was born in Saskatchewan. FAG has a Martin Felix Drummond (1903–1976, Minneapolis), possibly a brother. Elizabeth's real surname is not resolved — it needs Canadian or Minnesota sources.
- Eunice I. Coe death 1986, Ida Coe death: not in the VRR index (Ida died in Arizona).
- Francis Marion Coe death: no "Francis/F. M. Coe" death in WV. The only candidate is Frank Coe, Fairmont 1901 (above, unconfirmed).
- Sarah Ann (Ross) Coe death (Ancestry: 1901): no Coe/Sarah death in Marshall 1895–1905. Her maiden name "Ross" is unverified.
- Amanda, Sina A., Elizabeth Coe (Josiah's daughters): no deaths under Coe (they would carry married names). No Isaac/Newton Coe death after 1896.
- James M. Howard / Sarah E. Howard (Margaret's parents): a James Howard died 1879-10-28, Clay Dist., aged 77, father Samuel (VRR 4616525). The register names no spouse, so it is not linked. No image was saved.
- John H. Fitzgerald's own death: not found. John Fitzgerald, Wetzel 1917 (aged 61, unmarried) is a different man.
- Isaiah Timmons, 1886, Preston Co: not indexed. The Preston 1886 register is a later alphabetical transcript, and its T pages were not browsed.
- Carl Bom's death (~1901): see above — not indexed under any spelling tried.
